“Born to be wild” is a sculptural object that when viewed from above takes the form of the archaeological drawings of a historic bearpit hidden directly beneath it.

The form of the artwork gently undulates taking inspiration from tree branch structures - something bears often inhabit and move around. The sculpture invites the public to climb over, under and rest on the structure like bears in the wild. This artwork is designed to act as a provocation that asks us to consider the future relationship between animals and humans.
